weather here in nashville has not been cooperating with my yearning for spring time weather attire. that being said, i have had to seek a little "it's alright that it's still cold" outfit inspiration. that's when i stumbled across this beautiful spread. the clothes in these pictures make me feel a little bit better about putting a coat on.

ps. spring, if you're reading, i'm still ready for you.

nights like these

sometimes you just need a beer and a game of darts... and having a cute boyfriend to drink/play darts with doesn't hurt either.

happy friday everyone!

what i should be doing right now is my statistics homework. instead, i am drooling over this amazing Harper's Bazzar spread. i mean... it's real, real good.
i'm normally not the biggest fan of big, bright colors, but these pictures have me rethinking my (almost completely) neutral closet. don't be surprised (or alarmed) if next time you see me i am walking down the street in bright green flower-patterned pants.

seriously.

pictures from bonnaroo '11 & '12

lately i can't help but wish for warmer weather- cut offs, cookouts, cold beer...and bonnaroo.

i absolutely LOVE going to bonnaroo. getting to listen to my favorite bands all day and night, camping, and not showering for three days, i mean come on, what's not to love?

if you for whatever reason haven't had a chance to checkout the lineup you can do so here. see you there?

peanut butter problems

anyone who knows me at all knows that i have a serious love affair with peanut butter. i cannot go a single day without having at least one (heaping) spoonful. it may be a slight problem, but it is one that i am completely fine having.

since yesterday was a nasty, rainy, cold day and i was needing my peanut butter fix, i decided i'd bake pb chocolate chip cookies. i believe it was the best decision i made all day.

1 1/4 cup of flour
3/4  teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 stick of butter (softened)
1 cup of peanut butter of your choice (except Jif..come on people, use the good stuff)
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon of milk
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of chocolate chips
1/2 cup of peanut butter chips

1. preheat the oven to 350
2. combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a bowl
3. in a large bowl mix the peanut butter and butter until it's nice and fluffy
4. add both sugars and beat until smooth
5. add egg and mix
6. add milk, vanilla extract, and flour mixture and mix again
7. add chocolate and peanut butter chips
8. place rounded teaspoons on a greased cookie sheet
9. sprinkle a little sugar on top of each cookie for good measure (why not?)
10. bake for 10-12 minutes- they might look undercooked but they are done, trust me... i burnt a batch.
11. let cool for one minute on cookie sheet then place on parchment paper to cool.
12. pour a big ol glass of milk and eat those things.
